Expert Roundtable – Powering Inclusion: AI and Assistive Technology
On Nov 3rd, AT2030 Programme Partners UNESCO's International Research Centre on Artificial Intelligence (IRCAI), UCL's Global Disability Innovation Hub (GDI Hub), the European Disability Forum (EDF), and the Jožef Stefan Institute (JSI) will host an online Expert Roundtable—Powering Inclusion: AI and Assistive Technology.
The roundtable brings together experts from multilateral organisations, industry, academia, and civil society (DPOs and NGOs) to explore and identify the emerging areas in which AI has the potential to bring the greatest benefit to users of AT.
The session will commence with a scene-setting conversation by key speakers followed by four roundtable discussions in the areas of Communication, Mobility, Improving Information, and New and Emerging Technologies.
During the event we will seek to identify emerging opportunities within each of these themes and to establish a list of ‘grand challenges’ to drive forward innovation in this sector. The challenges will be published to mark the launch of IRCAI at the end of November in partnership with GDI Hub. We hope that the roundtable will be the first step in creating a community of interest in AI and AT.
A meeting package including the meeting’s agenda, participant’s directory, and other materials will be shared a week before the event.
