Digital Skills and Technology Innovation
UCLEast are offering an inclusive ICT bootcamp training during the February half-term for east London schools. The bootcamp is part of a project funded by the Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council (EPSRC) focusing on inclusive public activities for ICT (InPACT). We have partnered with Google to provide hands-on training in various digital technologies and tools. The goal is to promote ICT skills and innovation among young people and provide opportunities to collaborate on projects that tackle real-world challenges. Each day, the students will learn a new topic and apply their knowledge and skills to create an ICT project showcasing east London.
The bootcamp has 15 places available for secondary-age students. Reasonable accommodations will be provided to ensure the accessibility of the training for the students. Students will work in small groups. All training materials and equipment to practice the skills will be provided.

FAQs
Who can join the training?
You must be enrolled in a secondary school in east London (in year 9 or above). We will organise other bootcamp training later in the year for other age groups. If you are interested in the training but don't meet the current criteria, please email Maryam Bandukda (m.bandukda@ucl.ac.uk).
Can a parent/guardian accompany the participant?
Yes, please indicate in the registration form if a parent/guardian will be joining the training.
What are the daily timings for the bootcamp training?
The training will be run between 10am and 5pm on 12th - 14th and 16th February. Participants will be free to leave early by 3pm if they wish. On 15th February we will visit the Google ADC from 11am - 12pm. There will be no other activities on 15th February.
Will meals be provided?
Lunch and refreshments will be provided on campus at the UCL refectory.
Will the travel expenses be covered?
Travel expenses of up to £20 a day can be reimbursed by providing an invoice or proof of payment.
Where would we meet for the Google visit on 15th Feb?
Participants will be asked to travel independently to the Google office (6 Pancras Sq, London N1C 4AG). We will meet at the Google office reception at 10:45 am. The Google visit will be for roughly 1 hour.
