Albert Higgins is a PhD candidate at the Global Disability Innovation Hub and UCL Interaction Centre. He has a background in computer science and interaction design and has deep passion for applying novel research in computer vision, rapid prototyping and cognitive psychology to create low cost and effective products for Blind and Partially Sighted People (BPSP).
His current work focuses on novel route navigation, specifically developing new wearable computer vision-based sensors and high-resolution interactive pin displays.
Albert has dual master's in computer science and Human Computer Interaction with an undergraduate degree in Applied Chemistry. He has a strong interest in social benefit organisations, having previously worked as an environmental consultant remediating former chemical sites and developing digital technology for supporting migrants' health and well-being in Germany.
